In any event, I was only half way through trumpeter Avishai Cohen’s 2012 album, Triveni II (“triveni”, Sanskrit for a spiritual location where three sacred rivers join together) when I knew I found a player to keep tabs on. A wonderful donning of modern structures and avant-garde immediacy upon a retro soul of post bop blues. Here he is playing from the album, 'B.R Story'.
