Haiku- Autumn 2023

every house window

open to  let pass on through

the last warm breeze

autumn equinox-

red hawk finally catching

that backyard rabbit

harvest moon above

a turning sugar maple-

how oh so lucky

young couple discuss 

fertility and passing

all those falling leaves

weather pattern shift

now even the whirligigs 

try to fly south

november sundown,

the final steps of autumn

fade into silence
