Last week was spent camping in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Too many years since I have last done so. Forgot how restorative it is to sleep in a tent within earshot of surf cradling the Lake Superior shoreline, or from appreciating the way twilight lingers and eases a person slowly back into sunshine, or out into a night filled with galaxies of innumerable stars. A natural pace to everything and which allows time to pass along effortlessly. All the more appreciated when returning back to the stark contrast of the city. I suppose that means I am learning.

Your writing on this is lovely as always. Perfect. I’m so happy it was a return to calm. The city is a parasite on life.
