Winter Haiku- 2015/16
incessant thoughts-
a flock of sparrows
in the hedgerow
smokey barn cat,
a far westward eye
filled with crow
empty window-
moonlight’s ministry
deciphered
at the visitation
where nothing is
yet etched in marble
winter solstice,
headlights sighing
through the rain
oblique glass
in a paint layered frame-
new year’s eve
snow flakes,
a feathered waltz beheld
by gravity
sky dimmed low-
folded warmth
of privacy
opioid snow-
time sacked by a thief
blessed by a nun
evergreen boughs arching winter’s weight
snowblink
brevity reflecting
agelessness
streets wet with thaw-
friday afternoon
starts to relax
