Winter Haiku- 2015/16

incessant thoughts-
a flock of sparrows
in the hedgerow

smokey barn cat,
a far westward eye
filled with crow

empty window-
moonlight’s ministry
deciphered

at the visitation
where nothing is
yet etched in marble

winter solstice,
headlights sighing
through the rain

oblique glass
in a paint layered frame-
new year’s eve

snow flakes,
a feathered waltz beheld
by gravity

sky dimmed low-
folded warmth
of privacy

opioid snow-
time sacked by a thief
blessed by a nun

evergreen boughs arching winter’s weight

snowblink
brevity reflecting
agelessness

streets wet with thaw-
friday afternoon
starts to relax
