[Before Midnight; dir by Richard Linklater, 2013]

Despite the general tone of this trailer, Linklater, Delpy and Hawke are knives out with their third installment and and it doesn't take long for the melee of words, flesh and passions to strike personal. “I didn’t like it. Every scene just made me more and more tense...” was overheard from an older woman in her late 50's when we were walking out of the theater. What about her life did she not want to remember? Have to accept? Consciously realize? And like Celine and Jesse, I too am barreling into the momentum of my 40's. So what guiding tracings of myself can I make out in the distance of the past? Foresee possibly coming around the next year’s bend? What sublime mix of tragedy and heroism will take stage upon the shores of my own Mediterranean? Will await privately locked behind the closed doors that were my life choices?
